I got a call from Shirley Harvey (NoMSG veteran) and she suggested that we all start writing to news editors in all forms of media regarding obesity. She has noted that recently there has been such a media blitz on this subject, and we need to bring to the attention of health editors of magazines, newspapers, and such, that MSG is a big part of the problem. Use the keyword search here, or go to Carol's site at www.msgtruth.org, or my book chapter on obesity to help you pen or e mail your letter and PLEASE, at least send a short but informative article to these people. Not only is MSG messing with our metabolism and hormones, it makes food taste so good that it IS more addicting. This is a national health disaster, and we have to keep trying to make others see the MSG connection. It only takes a few minutes and the e mail and snail mail addresses are found in most magazines and via the Net. One suggestion is to write a letter to the editor when you see an article related to MSG and its symptoms appear in their publication. It's good to compliment them for their article and be very honest and diplomatic at the same time...and brief. Another approach might be to write a personal story of your before and after MSG situation,...with drama and intensity....but very honest and real, and backed by resources....the human interest story in women's magazines or health magazines might be places to start. Migraines are another buzz word now, too. But PLEASE make the effort. It's what is making the difference. No one else is going to do it for us. Thanks.
