I remember the first time I shopped at Whole foods-it was after finding out about MSG. I thought everything in there would be pretty safe. Now, I just consider it all as unsafe, unless I read the ingredients and see for myself that there is nothing in there remotely resembling MSG.
This morning I was in St. Louis with my husband, and we went to Whole Foods. I had apples on my list, and I went to pick out some Fujis. I only got 4. Then, I picked out some Applegate Farms lunchmeat, and my husband says, "That stuff is $6.39 a pack?-Let's get it at Trader Joes because it is only $3 something." When done at Whole Foods, we got in the car and he is looking at the grand total. The apples were $2.00 a piece! He says, "Wow, I don't know why they don't just put up a sign that says "WE ROB YOU."
Maybe you would have to know my husband but I just started laughing. Sometimes, you just have to laugh. At Trader Joes, the meat was $3.49 a package.
The price is high at the Whole Food stores, and just like other places, you have to shop around.

I can eat Applegate Farms Uncured ham, and Roasted Chicken or Turkey. DON'T even try the Black Forrest Ham. I also use Trader Joe's sliced Swiss Cheese for sandwiches.
