Here is a link about autism being linked to brain inflammation. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4004075.stm
We already knew here that MSG is linked to inflammation because it increases the release of histamine. I think this is more evidence for our case that MSG may be linked to autism.

Wow, I read the article and it sounds like they are getting closer. Perhaps we can e mail Johns Hopkins or write or send information suggesting that they take a look at how glutamate from a mother's diet during gestation and afterwards, plus the baby's formula and food may be a big part of the puzzle.
The article said that even though the condition has a strong genetic component (both twins are usually effected), it goes on to say, "However, the number of children with autism appears to be increasing more than expected for a genetic disorder. This suggests that genetic abnormalities require the influence of other factors to cause the disorder. Birth complications, toxins, diet, and viruses and other pathogens have been suggested, though there is no strong evidence for any of these." And that's the rub. Even scientists studying this issue would have no idea of the abnormal amount of glutamate present in a mother's or a child's diet....enough, my guess, to release the immune system proteins the article talks about that are associated with brain inflammation. This is important stuff.
