1,4-benzothiazepine derivative K-201 (JTV519) has been described as a calcium channel blocker (I understand glutamate to be a calcium channel opener).

Because glutamate is a calcium channel opener, then this drug basically stops the gate, which opens the glutamate receptor to allow the glutamate in, thus thwarting its destructive process.???? I trying to make some kind of deduction...please correct or enlighten me! Thanks.
