"Realizing that monosodium glutamate is hazardous to health, the State is launching public education campaigns to stop monosodium glutamate consumption among the people. It closed the State-owed monosodium glutamate factory in 1999. In this manner, the Minister for Industry-1 made arrangements to rerun the closed factory for the benefit of the nation. In accord with the directives of the minister, the experts conducted research work continuously starting December 1999 and found a method to produce glucose powder from tapioca powder. The Myanmar engineers without the help of foreign experts transformed the monosodium glutamate producing machines into glucose producing machines. In this way, the Soon-oak brand glucose powder has appeared in the markets beginning July 2000.

The households are using the Soon-oak brand glucose powder as the flavouring and taste enhancing agent in substitution for monosodium glutamate."

Duhh.......... Well Roy, guess threy snowed you. Don't you see that they are producing yet another poison under an old name, and doing it because they were found out, so they had to rearrange once again, and send out their media ploy. You will never learn!

Anonymous,

You and I don't own the factory, so we don't get to pick the product they switch to. As far as I'm concerned, this is an improvement, regardless of the motive. I was quite aware that they were trying to put a spin on it. A lot of us here wouldn't be sorry if every MSG factory in the world stopped making it.

Diabetics sometimes need glucose powder. It isn't as evil as it sounds, and Roy is right, it's better than MSG.

Methinks that "anonymous" likes to stir things up. But PLEASE, let's put down the real enemy, not the people who work so hard to help fellow victims. What would we do without Roy's links or super sleuthing?? I so appreciate all those whose postings are postive, educational, and selfless....and considerate.
