Take a look at my review(KShanks) for a product on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E5E0Y2/ref=cm_cr_thx_view

This may be a good way to get the word out. I know I always read reviews before buying. If we all review a product on Amazon that remotely involves eliminating MSG and include just enough information to pique someone's interest, we may help more people.

Kristy, this is a great idea. If several of us would do some research concerning other products we can endorse this way, this could be the start of a very good project. If possible, we could start listing some good products and links to where we can post comments like Kristy's. We could also start a list of support group chat rooms related to illnesses associated with glutamate toxicity. Any other suggestions? Any volunteers?? :-)

My suggestion would be that our reviews need to be completely truthful, that we have tried the product and endorse it. We could all be on the lookout for chat rooms and report back when we have found one, maybe posting them on a specific thread/topic. I certainly volunteer to begin this and maybe our website guru, Roy, can give us some pointers on how to find them....and then there's, of course, Jennifer, our little research expert!

Dianne, I agree, I would be willing to look for chats and threads, and add my opinion. Deb, I think the idea of a formal list where we can post is an excellent one. I know you are busy, but could you add that as a topic?

I check the Baby Center "Cooking for your family" and "food allergy" chat boards daily for people looking for information on how to cut out processed foods from their diets. I also do searches for "msg" within all the chat boards to look for current conversations about msg. I'm always surprised how many people are out there looking for information on how to get started.

I'd be happy to watch out for more, but I think its important that we don't appear that we are taking over a chat or trying to sell our beliefs.

Deb A., That's wonderful, can't wait to listen to it. Will you let us know when it becomes available (in case we didn't remember to keep checking).

On the other subject about taking advantage of other websites to spread the truth about MSG, I get Dr. Mercola's newsletters emailed to me and you can post comments after each, you can also read them at http://www.drmercola.com

This was sent to me by Carol H. It is frightening if it's true. Remember that Monsanto and Archer Daniels Midland, are mega corporations that have smelly records. Do a search on GMO seeds and Monsanto for some frightening stories. They get huge fines for what they have done on occasion...they pay the fines and go on their merry way. Roy, can you do some sleuthing and see if the facts stand up?

Call and Write:
The U.S. House Agriculture Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy and Poultry will hold a hearing on NAIS on March 11. Bills to put NAIS into law, HR875 and companion Senate S814, are being pushed through Congress, as well as an Appropriations Bill with funding for NAIS. This hearing is critical to blocking mandatory NAIS.

Here is the latest from OCA-please follow links in the article.

Internet Myth of the Week:
Congress To Pass Bill That Will Outlaw Organic Farming?

This week, we received numerous calls and emails from OCA supporters who came across alarming YouTube videos and emails circulating on the internet that claimed a new food safety bill (HR 875) introduced in Congress would make "organic farming illegal." Although the Bill certainly has its shortcomings, it is an exaggeration to say that is a secret plot by Monsanto and the USDA to destroy the nation's alternative food and farming system. In actuality, HR 875, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009, is a limited-vision attempt by moderate Democrats and Republicans to craft food safety legislation to address the out-of-control filth and contamination that are inherent in our industrialized, now globalized, "profit-at-any-cost" food system.
This being said, OCA does not support HR 875 in its present form, given the fact that, if the Bill's regulations were applied in a one-size-fits-all manner to certified organic and farm-to-consumer operations, it could have a devastating impact on small farmers, especially raw milk producers who are already unfairly targeted by state food-safety regulators. Although the OCA deems this Bill as somewhat well-intentioned, we are calling on Congress to focus its attention on the real threats to food safety: globalized food sourcing from nations such as China where food safety is a joke and domestic industrial-scale and factory farms whose collateral damage includes pesticide and antibiotic-tainted food, mad cow disease, E.coli contamination and salmonella poisoning. And, of course, Congress and the Obama Administration need to support a massive transition to organic farming practices.
