Just a crazy thought, but what about this: Maybe the increased use of ibuprofin was a coincidence based on the fact that people who suffer from pain are at risk. What if the thing that caused the pain increased the risk of heart disease and the painkiller was just an innocent bystander? We here find that ibuprofin and anti-inflammatories ease the pain we have from such an additive as MSG. What if the MSG caused the risk by increasing inflammation, and the fact that we use painkillers like NSAIDS that work in our case, is simply a byproduct of the fact that they work against the very thing putting us at risk? Oh well, just a thought.
