I have some questions about aspartame. Other than diet drinks what might you find aspartame in? Is it put in foods? Or is it just liquid beverages? The reason for these questions are, I'm not a person who likes diet pop, or diet anything for that matter. It always tasted funny. If it is in foods, I would like to know about it so that my children and I can avoid it.

I thought that aspartame was only in diet foods but one time while at Sam's I read the ingredients in a bakery apple pie. I couldn't believe it when I came across aspartame in a pie that already had sugar in it. Reading labels is vital for anyone concerned about the exclusion of excitotoxins from their diet.

Look on labels for candies, gums, cough drops and flavored over the counter medications too.

Look for aspartame in toothpastes, too.
