Hello, everyone!!! I receive the Vegetarian Times magazine, not because I'm vegetarian, just in hopes to find some good vegetable recipes. In this month's issue there's a blurb about the "Vegetarian Legal Action Network (VLAN) that has been petitioning the FDA to require food manufacturers to list the contents of all natural flavorings. VLAN encourages concerned individuals to sign a petition and lend their voice to influence the FDA.". The article discusses McDonald's French fries contain "natural flavors" that include animal products. Anyways, perhaps we can all help each other encourage the FDA to list all ingredients. The article offers two ways to contact the VLAN: visit www.enviroweb.org/vlan or (888)463-6332.

Well, I should check out the source before I post. I could not find anyplace to sign the petition and it seems as though, upon a quick reading of the petition, that it only groups things into categories like chicken, wheat, soy, plant sources, etc. Maybe I'll have time another day to look at it further. Gotta go...
