I am looking at a goat's milk protein powder which seems safe to eat; they say it is "lacto-fermented." I know that many of us are sensitive to fermented foods; does "lacto" fermented sound safe? Thanks.

Hi Figgie,
I'm sorry I'm not more help, I am struggling with the science of this, but I now avoid all protein powders and anything fermented. I am very wary of the process of creating the powder, I think it releases or creates FGA.
Protein shakes used to be a regular for me, so I completely understand the appeal and convenience.

Search 'fermented' on the board and see if any of the earlier posts on the subject are helpful.
It seems like it might cause msg symptoms because of a protein (the milk) being broken down by the fermentation process.
But everyone is different and some folks are more sensitive than others.
