Here are some links about juicers: "The World's Most Advanced Multi-Purpose Living Juice Extractor" http://www.harvestessentials.com/twhemaju.html A juice-off competition. Comparison of juicers. The green juicers seem to be among the best. They can juice pine needles. http://www.discountjuicers.com/twingearshowdown.html How to compare juicers: http://www.discountjuicers.com/bestjuicer.html#Twin%20Gear%20Press More comparisons: http://www.discountjuicers.com/lowrpmjuicers.html Solo Star vs other juicers: http://www.discountjuicers.com/solovisorcompare.html Keep in mind that manufacturers tends to overhype their products and tend to not mention down sides. So you might want to read comments by people who have experience with juicers. One customer found that a juicer worked well for a while but fell apart after 30 days. Another customer broke the auger in 3 places. Solo Star 2 vs Omega 8005: http://www.discountjuicers.com/twostagecompare3.html Mercola advocates the Omega 8003/8005, but I think he is a bit biassed in favor of the juicer that he sells. A chart: http://www.2-life.com/juicer_reviews.htm Pictures and descriptions of several juicers: http://www.earthnotions.ca/ A bunch of juicers: http://www.healthnutalternatives.com/twingear_juicers.htm This is Mercola's comparison table. http://www.mercola.com/article/juicer_comp.htm Mercola omits important information, like how efficient is the juicer. The more expensive juicers tend to be more efficient. And the Omega has lots of competition that Mercola doesn't list. Promoting the Omega 8003/8005 http://www.mercola.com/article/juicer.htm# Mercola criticizes some juicers for being more expensive, but doesn't mention that they juice better. And he doesn't mention juicers that have approximately the same price as the Omega and might be better. -------- Don't buy the Braun juicer. That is useless for juicing leafy stuff. If you are gonna juice you gotta juice leafy stuff; otherwise you are missing out on some mega super powerful nutrition such as them flavonoids that Blaylock mentions in "Health and Nutrition Secrets". Another thing wrong with the Braun juicer is that it is too noisy. It sounds like an airplane taking off. It is nice to be able to juice all hours of day and night without disturbing the neighbors. The auger-type juicers are quiet. The motor purrs like a kitten and you can hear the food crunching at 80 rpm. ----- Once you get a good juicer, then you can make meals that are better both taste-wise and health-wise than anything you can get from any restaurant. There is a virtually infinite variety of possible mixes of veggy juices. ------ A tip: If you think the juicer didn't make enough juice, you can recyle the pulp. Put the pulp back in and juice it again. Sometimes you get a little extra juice out of it. |

I read someone was having trouble with migraines, I was having about 3 a week and someone told me to take olive leaf extract twice a day and limit my acidic fruits. It's amazing Im only having about 1 migraine a month. Hope this is helpful |

Are there any chemists out there or anyone else who can tell me what happens to the nutrient count when you freeze vegie juice? I would like to stock up a supply in my freezer. |

Freezing preserves vitamins. I took Food Analysis in college and we found that foods that were frozen preserved their vitamins longer than fresh. Cutting or juicing things exposes them to the air or light - which will damage certain vitamins. Part of the trouble with freezing certain whole vegetables - like tomatoes is that the specific fibers of some fruits that make up the cell walls rupture from the freezing process and spill their contents. Then you can't put a frozen tomato's cell contents back in place. The beauty of juiced veggies is that the juicer has already ruptured the cell contents to get the juice out. You really can't do more damage by freezing. I'd give freezing a shot, ME Morris. |

I underestimated the Braun juicer. Here is a juicing tournament, with the Twin Health Marathon being the winner: http://www.harvestessentials.com/twhemaju.html I'm starting to suspect that maybe they picked some less efficient juicers for competition in order to make the Twin Health Marathon look good. I done my own juicing test on my Braun juicer. weight of bowl with carrots -- 1450 grams weight of empty bowl ---------515 grams ----------------------------------------- weight of carrots ----------------935 grams (Is my math correct?) weight of bowl with juice ------1130 grams weight of empty bowl ------------515 grams ------------------------------------------- weight of juice -----------------615 grams (Is my math correct?) efficiency of the Braun juicer for juicing carrots 615 grams of juice from 935 grams of carrots Approximately two thirds juice. This beats the Twin Health Marathon, which gives 550 grams of carrot juice from 1000 grams of carrots. They brag about the Twin Health being such a great juicer. I have also the Omega 8003 juicer. It gets only about one third juice from carrots (by my test). About half as much juice. Conclusion: The Braun is better for juicing carrots. Dr. Mercola overhypes this juicer, because he sells it. But the Braun is no good for juicing spinach. The Omega does a far better job on spinach and all leafy stuff. |

Jerry - Thanks for the suggestion re juicing of red cabbage. I find the taste refreshing -- nice for a change. That's a great analysis of juicers too -- I'll be referring to it when I buy a better juicer. |

I underestimated the lowly spinning basket Braun juicer again. It actually juices purple cabbage well. Surprising because generally it is no good with leafy stuff. The Omega 8003 juicer does a poor job of juicing purple cabbage. Beware of hype with juicers. |

Here is a discussion about the Norwalk juicer. http://www.norwalkjuicer.com/Juicing_toc.htm People tell you their experiences with juicers and they let it all hang out. The good and the bad and the ugly. Cut thru manufacturer's hype. |

Jerry story, Hi more about juicers. I am confused now having done a search. You mentioned Braun as one juicer and said it was good and bad. Which version did you like/not like? Any suggestions of where to start? What are you currently using? I am asking you since you seem to be the Juicing guy. Thanx |
