Hello from the UK

Could anyone help me with this one please:

I bought CoQ10 for the first time, unfortunately at the same time I bought Quaker Porridge Oats - what a mistake, so they're out of the door; but now I can't be sure that the CoQ10 is ok as I'm not feeling too good due to the Quaker Oats.

CoQ10+vit E in tablet form from Wassen Nutrition;
Ingedients: Dicalcium phosphate, Vit E Prep (DL-Alhpa Tocopheryl Acetate, Silicon DIoxide), Microcystalline cellulose, Coating: (HydroxypropylMethylCellulose,Colours: (Titanium dioxide, Iron Oxides), Purified Talc), STearic ACid, SIlicon Dioxide, Coenzyme Q10, Hydroxypropyl Cellulose, Croscarmellose Sodium, Magnesium STearate.

I think it migth be OK but would like your experienced views on it.

GREAT website by the way. One day when I can concentrate for a bit longer I'll post my story.

It might work, though I am sceptical about all the binders and fillers. Try it together with fatty food. Or buy capsules with a Q10 liquid solution inside and avoid the gelatin in the capsule.

Beyond-A-Century sells straight CoQ10 in a powder form and you may want to go that route versus the one you have with all the fillers in it. You'd have to take the powder with a fat/oil of some sort as that is best way for it to assimilate properly.

I've been trying to source the powder form here in the UK, but it seems it's only available in the US (with limited shipping at quite a cost).
I'll go for the capsules and only use the content as suggested.
Stevia is another product I can't find in the UK; apparantly it's illegal to sell it here unless it's for medicinal use. I have found a web based shop where they sell it with the explicit warning 'not for oral use' but currently they have sold out.

Do you know why Stevia is illegal in the UK?

It's not considered safe as a food or food supplement (in UK and rest of EU)
See http://www.food.gov.uk/multimedia/webpage/stevia
Interestingly I also learned that Stevia is widely used by the big companies like Coca Cola as a sweetener for their diet products in Japan as aspartame is illegal over there...
What a strange world we live in.

Yes, and the article's reason for banning Stevia sounds convincing:

"The data considered by the Committee indicated that the extract has the potential to produce adverse effects in the male reproductive system that could affect fertility and that a metabolite produced by the human gut microflora, steviol, is genotoxic (ie. damages DNA)."

I see several forms of COQ10 at beyond a century. Melinda, which kind do you use?

If she gets the one I use, it's about $60.00 for the pure yellow powder with a scoop. I use 1/3 scoop with about 1/3 t. of olive oil. It last me about 8 months or more. I take it about every two days or so.
