I have never seen Sal Butter used in cosmetics and I've done alot of research on natural ingredients and do make my own often, but I was curious and so I did a search.

It is from the Shorea Robusta tree found in India. From what I can tell, it should be safe, but I'd do a test patch on the inside of your elbow and let sit without washing that area over night and see if any topical reactions. As far as msg...I doubt it has that in it, but can't be 100% sure.
