This site talks about research re (1) enhancement of insecticide formulations with monosodium glutamate to reduce amounts of toxic ingredients without reducing overall efficacy of pest control and (2) the use of MSG to enhance pesticide toxicity.

Most pesticides are actually neurotoxins. Unfortunately, I know this because I used to work with insecticidal baits. This bears some investigation. I'll try to dig into this story a little more.

Let's feed bugs MSG to help kill them better...the pesticide must taste better.

Carol, did you get my e mail today? I tried your old address first, but hope the second try got through.

I think John Ashcroft finally caught up with me - for some unknown reason Microsoft just closed my hotmail account - just after I paid them till 2006 for extra storage. I have tried to contact them to no avail. They closed my account without warning and denied me access. They won't even give me the courtesy of an email or call to tell me why or give me a refund. I am very unhappy about it. Use firstname.lastname@example.org instead.

It sounds like they are using MSG as a potentiator, to increase the hyperstimulating effects of the pesticides on the bugs' nervous systems. Just great for those of us who are sensitized to both already. Actually, I believe the pesticide exposures were what potentiated my reactions to MSG.
I wonder who is sponsoring this research....hmmm....

I think Ashcroft has caught up with me, too. I've been getting messages from my ISP that my e-mail account is being accessed by another user at the same time and that it may be my cell phone connection. I don't have a cell phone.

Hi Carol H.
I think something is very strange with hotmail... On Friday, I sent a friend an old discussion board message from 2002 regarding msg and peeling hands.. She never received it. I just resent it. If she doesn't get this new message I'll let you know.

Do you think any of this has to do with all the screen names sold by AOL last week?

I heard something about a security breach that allows a hacker to hijack someones computer an send out spam as them. The major ISPs may be trying to combat this by shutting down emails they suspect may have been "hijacked". It may help the spam situtation. At least I have several other email accounts to use. I won't go back to hotmail.
