John,

I'd avoid that bread because of the "lupine protein" alone:

"Lupin is an excellent fermentation substrate. Its fermented flavorings and sauces are a similar and effective replacement for soy sauce. Consider the following: A variety of Lupin meal products make up a group of foods called textured vegetable protein (TVP). These foods can be chemically treated to look and taste like meat in order to appeal to consumers. TVP foods can be mixed with meat or eaten alone. They are less expensive than meat and contain more protein. TVP products are made of either extruded Lupin protein or spun Lupin protein.

got a reply for the ingredients for that bread from truthinlabeling.org/

"There will be some processed free glutamic acid (MSG) found in the maize (corn) starch, the lupine protein (defined as the hydrolyzed protein from the seeds of the lupine plant), the 472e (DATEM - includes tartaric acid), and in the guar gum. We estimate that about 80% of flavours will contain MSG."

Amazing that in 13 ingredients 5 have processed MSG

472e.....bingo....i keep getting hit with something that is causing me a sinusy headache, very mild but i KNOW its food related. Our bread has just changed its labelling/ingredients again!! and 472e is in there. That answers that for me. Thanks John for inadvertently solving that one for me. As for 13 ingredients having 5 processed msg sorces in there, it just amazes me how many ingredients can be in a loaf of bread. I picked up a cheap loaf in the shop a few days ago(i didnt buy it) and it had 21 ingredients in it...i mean why?????
