Hi...I thought I posted this question a week ago, but can't locate it. I just wanted to know the safe list of body lotions (and face lotions). It's so hard to go through eveyone's posting, or even through the search feature. I saw "terressentials". Anything else? Thank you.

Pammy,
I love all the soaps, lotions and lip balms from tropicaltraditions.com. I also love the virgin coconut oil (I use it for facial moisturizer) and the coconut cream concentrate.

Here are a few that have been talked about on this site that people have had success with:

Face Cream
Derma E vitamin A retinyl palmitatie wrinkle treatment crème

Lotion
Natures Gate herbal skin therapy hemp lotion for dry skin

Body Lotion
Alba papaya mango body cream (expensive)

I really like Vanicream ( http://www.amazon.com/Vanicream-Moisturizing-Skin-Care-Cream/dp/B0000ZHH5G ). So far I don't react to traditional soaps and lotions so I'm not a good gauge on if Vanicream is safe but it has very few ingredients and is made for very sensitive skin. It works incredibly well- I just love it.

Any other hand lotions?

(I don't want to use hemp). By the way, thank you both for posting. I appreciate it.

Between washing hands from cat, kids, and general cleanliness, my hands are raw, red, and cracked like crazy(and bleed frequently). I will look into the tropicaltraditions.

Any others people??

I've just discovered a new lotion called PATRICK CURELLE Hand and Body Lotion. This should not be confused with products by Curel (a different company).

The Hand and Body Lotion absorbs quickly and isn't greasy like some "natural" lotions. It's reasonably priced, unscented, and comes in three sizes, one of which is perfect for airline travel.

Ingredients are:
Purified water, cetearyl glucoside (from manioc, coconut), avocado oil, sucrose cocoate, glycerine (veg), D-alpha Tocopherol (nat. Vit. E), panthenol (vit. B5), lonicera japonica.

The company completely understands about ingredients being in products, but undeclared, and assures me there are no hydrolyzed proteins in this lotion. I was impressed with the depth of knowledge and concern the company expressed in corresponding with me. They don't do soy on principle, and are known for omitting petroleum and other toxic ingredients from their products.

I am unsure of their distribution in stores in the U.S. but in Canada, Patrick Curelle is available in most health food stores, plus I found their lotion online here (will ship to the U.S.):
http://www.aviva.ca

It's the only lotion I've found without methylparabens, algae, hydrolyzed this, that and the other thing that I can actually buy in a store.
