I was wondering if ginger can help with attacks. I read it has antihistamine properties. Whenever I take ginger I feel more calm. I think I read somewhere ginger helps with excretion headaches and when I take it before I workout it seems to help me from getting headaches.

It may help, it is supposed to have anti-inflamatory properties. It also may be an individual thing, as other remedies are.

Yes, it has anti-inflammatory properties, and MSG is an inflammatory agent. It's good for a lot of things Ihigh in anti-oxidants, which means it can help prevent some of the damage that glutamate can do to cells. Sometimes, I will make ginger ale by just sprinkling some dry ginger powder in a glass and stirring in some sugar or stevia. Then I add carbonated water we make with a machine. We also like crystallized ginger...great for an upset stomach and nausea.

I'm at work, but will find out when I get home. Or you can do a search on carbonator machine.

I make Ginger Ale as well but no machine needed:

I cut up fresh organic ginger in small pieces and add to boiling water and then simmer for about 15-20 minutes. Then I add a small bit of vanilla and small amount of stevia (you only need a very tiny amount of the stevia powder), stir and then sift through cheescloth into a jar. This is your "syrup" and can be refridgerated for storage. To make a glass of the ginger ale, I then add a few tablespoons of the syrup to a glass of sparkling water (you can add as much or little of the syrup as desired). It's delish!

And I just made a cup of Ginger tea yesterday for nausea by adding 1/2 tsp organic ginger powder to boiled water and it helped tremendously. :-) I've never used it for msg reactions, but will remember to do so now.
